WHICH ONE OF MY

Cyril the Sorcerer is the Merlin of Environmental Magic. He was born and raised in the fabled Land of Aquilon where he began his magical studies. When Aquilon became endangered by misuse of land, pollution of water and fouling of air, he worked to restore the magical balance between humans and Nature. Now he travels the world sharing the ancient lessons that saved Aquilon and, when entrusted to today’s young heroes, will save our lands as well.

THE MAN BEHIND THE SCENES
Cyril John “CJ” May is a sustainability professional, environmental presenter and instructor at McBride’s Magic & Mystery School. CJ received his Masters Degree in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment and served as Yale’s recycling coordinator for more than 20 years. He currently manages the day-to-day affairs of Cyril the Sorcerer including the logistics of email, website, travel and business so unfamiliar to the wizard . CJ also performs enviromagic, but most often for professionals and other adults in more “TED Talk” fashion than Cyril. Learn about his presentations at Better World Magic.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS
Cyril says that he has yet to earn the title of “wizard”. He says that remains a sorcerer for he has much to learn. Someday, when he has learned more magic and, perhaps, passed along enough of his wisdom to young heroes, he might consider himself a “wizard.”
The word “enviromagic” was coined by Master Magician Jeff McBride. It is his name for magical performances which not only entertain but also educate and empower audiences with messages on environmental issues.
As Cyril the Sorcerer says, “magic, by its ability to capture the imagination, can change the world.” Magic not only holds the attention of audience members but also demonstrates the wonder of our natural world as well as the power humans have to remedy the problems we are facing in the 21st Century.
CJ May’s father was an electrical engineer who inspired in him a sense of wonder for what humans can accomplish with dedication, hard work and curiosity. Our ability to overcome challenges is so wondrous it is like magic.
